A few months ago, I was at Goodwill doing some shopping. I came across some pieces that I thought would be SO cute with some embroidery added. Over the next few weeks, I purchases some pieces, did some experimenting, and decided to start adding in some upcycled clothing pieces to my collections.
I launched my first upcycled pieces with the Americana Collection and they were a hit! Since then, I have been hard at work purchasing thrifted pieces, and lovingly reimagining them. Each piece is totally unique, which is such a fun part of the process.
Some pieces have subtle embroidery added, some have patches or vintage quilt pieces added, and some have been cut apart, and sewn back together. Like I said, each piece is truly a one of a kind piece of clothing!
Sewing has always been a way for me to express my creativity, but since this became my full time job, there are times where it feels less creative and more industrial, just working through the orders and making lots of the same items.
These upcycled pieces have infused a new level of creativity back into my business. I get to take each piece of clothing, look at it as an individual challenge, and then creatively rework it to be a new piece. I have loved collecting pieces and taking them through this process!
My biggest upcycled collection yet will be launching soon with the July launch! All the upcycled pieces, along with new apparel and accessories, will launch Wednesday, July12 at 6:00pm. I can’t wait to show you these pieces! I know you will love them just as much as I do!
